Anna Bartholdy - Festival Director
After her first professional experience working at a television production company in Berlin, where she focussed on camerawork and production, and festival work for the Berlinale, Anna studied documentary film directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg until 2012. Her diploma film was shot in Chile and deals with the rescue of 33 buried miners. After her studies, she worked for various theatres and film projects as a director and dramaturge. She has also worked in a curational and organisational capacity at theatres and film festivals.
Daniela Silvestrin - Festival Director
Daniela Silvestrin is a curator, cultural scientist, programme developer and organises international cultural projects. Her work focuses on hybrid artistic practices and the production of knowledge where art, society, technology and the natural sciences meet. Since 2011, Daniela has worked for various festivals, art projects, exhibitions, and is the co-founder of the “Disruption Network Lab” in Berlin, co-editor of various publications, and curator of the Berlin initiative ACUD MACHT NEU.

Julia Pirzer - Project Director of Zukunftstreff
Julia studied film and political science with a focus on the programming and presentation of audiovisual media, especially with regards to the conflict between museumisation and digitisation. She previously worked as assistant to the artistic director at the Kinothek Asta Nielsen. Her focus is on film communication and she has developed and implemented concepts relating to this for the Austrian Film Museum, as well as for children’s and youth festivals. She writes film texts for festivals in Germany and abroad and has a strong interest in female filmmaking, subcultural music movements and political philosophy.
Madlen Feuerriegel - Festivalmanagement
During her studies at the Free University of Berlin, Madlen began organising training events at the Goethe Institutes in Hamburg, Bonn and Berlin. Since 2015, she has held various positions at film and theatre festivals – for example at the ALFILM, an Arabic film festival in Berlin where she has been primarily responsible for guest management and a part of the programme committee for several years. Madlen lives in Berlin and works for Deutsche Welle-TV alongside her festival work.
Gregor Bartsch - Programme Committee
Gregor grew up in Pirna in Saxony and studied at the FH Deggendorf, the faculty of arts at the UWE Bristol and the film school Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. Films on which he has worked have been shown at festivals in Germany and internationally, receiving numerous awards, for example the Arte Documentary Film Prize in 2018 for the film Barstow California by Rainer Komers. He has lived and worked in Berlin and Potsdam since 2010, where he works as a film editor.
Jürgen Tobisch - Programme Committee
Jürgen was born in 1974 in Böblingen. At a young age, he discovered his love for film in the library of his hometown Sindelfingen. After studying film in Bochum, Mainz and Edinburgh, he worked at numerous film festivals from 2003 to 2013, including FILMZ Mainz, the Bollywood & Beyond Festival Stuttgart, the Filmfest Hamburg and the Berlinale. He has also organised several film festivals and short film events in Sindelfingen. Since 2017, he has curated the programmes “Focus Baltic Sea” and the Filmkunstfest MV in Schwerin, which focusses on a different country each year.
