With merciless loops and stirring music, the film takes us from the earth's surface to its inner core. Everything is connected; plants and people, buildings and angels, heaven and hell merge. The deeper we go, the more hopeless and brutal the scenery becomes. References to Hieronymus Bosch's paintings and parallels to Dante's path to the realm of the dead emerge. It remains unclear where the journey ultimately leads to, at the end of which there is only an infinite vortex.
