The filmmaker knew the protagonist Addai when he was still a little boy. Later she loses sight of him, his mother and his friends. As a young man Addai converts to Islam and travels to Syria to fight for an Islamist group. Esther Niemeier follows his way and tries to grasp how and why one becomes a terrorist. It remains a sad puzzle without definite answers.
